For 36 years, Habitat Dominicana has collaborated with the reduction of the housing deficit.

Santo Domingo, (September 2022). -Habitat for Humanity arrived in the Dominican Republic in 1986, with the vision that each person has a decent place to live and to date, through financial loans delivered to families with an interest rate appropriate to their resources. and with the solidary support of people who collaborate with the cause of decent housing, the international organization has served 196,455 people in the most vulnerable areas of the country. Having your own home provides security, well-being and peace.

During 36 years of service, the organization has delivered 39,289 housing solutions that have transformed the lives and futures of these homeowners. According to ONE-CELADE studies, the housing deficit is currently around 2.1 million homes, this figure is reduced every year, but greater efforts are needed to achieve the goal. “Decent and adequate housing gives the strength, stability and self-sufficiency that a family needs to transform its future and progress. For years we have accompanied many families, collaborating with their development and granting financial microcredit so that they can build their homes and become protagonists of their own development,” added Cesarina Fabian, national director of Dominican Habitat.

Habitat for Humanity has built with families around the world, those who build a home together with Habitat are assured of quality construction, they are offered the construction technical assistance service, so that their homes are a safe, habitable space and under the desired living conditions.

The main requirement to join and be the owner of a Habitat home is that the person owns the land where they plan to build their home, that they have a secure source of income, so that they can pay the fees established by one of the allied financial entities and have a guarantor that supports the requested credit, for more information you can access www.habitatdominicana.org, fill out the form to find out if you qualify for the financial credit program.
