World Vision Dominican Republic, which has been present for more than 15 years in the area affected by the hurricane, was interested. in working inter-institutionally, to respond to the recovery of homes for Dominican families with the repair and improvement of homes in the municipalities of El Seibo and Miches, in addition to managing funds for these purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Traducci\u00f3n\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cIt is a right of every human being to have decent housing, for World Vision it was clear the role that we had to assume in the face of Hurricane Fiona, as an organization that works to promote the integral well-being of children, we were able to be present in the affected communities in less than 48 hours, coordinating a timely and effective response, but above all listening to families and identifying specific opportunities that required immediate action. This response was possible thanks to the collaboration, work in unity and trust, the leadership and technical experience of a partner like Habitat, through which we were able to join the country&#8217;s efforts to restore housing conditions and contribute to comprehensive well-being. of the most vulnerable children affected by this phenomenon, indicated Elicaury Bautista Bid\u00f3, national director of World Vision Dominican Republic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Traducci\u00f3n\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Said agreement also established training for families on healthy housing issues, and important strengthening of community leadership, this for a greater development of the communities that will be intervened.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Traducci\u00f3n\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;This effort between both organizations makes us very happy, now more communities that need it will be impacted with this support, families will transform their way of life, they will be safer and live in a better place, grateful that World Vision Dominican Republic has united once again to our cause in favor of decent housing\u201d, said Cesarina Fabi\u00e1n, national director of Habitat Dominicana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Traducci\u00f3n\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Hurricane Fiona affected the country in the month of September of last year, with category 1, brought strong winds and torrential rain that caused the overflow of rivers and ravines, affecting communication, infrastructure and homes.
