Through an alliance with Habitat for Humanity Dominican Republic, several houses will be rebuilt in El Seibo, where the hurricane wreaked havoc.<\/span><\/p>\n

Santo Domingo (October 11)\u2013 The Punta Catalina Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTPC) announced the donation of RD$10 million to support families affected by Hurricane Fiona in communities of El Seibo. The solidarity contribution will be executed by Habitat for Humanity Dominican Republic, through the reconstruction of the houses that suffered great damage after the passage of the hurricane. <\/span><\/p>\n

The intervened families will be supported with the placement of new roofs, assistance with electrical installations and construction of complete houses. The housing reconstruction project in El Seibo is part of the mandate of Habitat for Humanity Dominican Republic, an international organization with more than 36 years in the country, serving families who need a decent place to live.<\/span><\/p>\n

Habitat for Humanity’s mandate is to work to reduce vulnerabilities and build resilient communities, through the integration of housing initiatives to provide basic sanitation services, such as roofs and floors. A safe house offers protection from the storm and is the shelter to be safe. This contribution is part of the generator’s social responsibility approach and its commitment to the country.<\/span><\/p>\n
